Our Anatomical Locking Distal Tibia Plates are low-profile, high-strength orthopedic implants engineered specifically for the internal fixation of complex distal tibia fractures, including intra-articular pilon fractures, extra-articular metaphyseal fractures, and distal tibia non-unions. Designed to address the challenging subcutaneous environment of the lower leg, these plates are available in distinct Left and Right anteromedial configurations. Each plate is meticulously pre-contoured to replicate the natural skeletal geometry of the distal medial malleolus, eliminating the need for aggressive intraoperative contouring.
Crafted from medical-grade, highly electropolished Surgical Stainless Steel 316L or Premium Titanium Alloy, the plate features a widely flared distal head with a scalloped tip. This head cluster is engineered with multiple multi-directional locking holes that accept small fragment screws to form a rigid subchondral raft, securing articular fragments perfectly. The structural plate shaft incorporates advanced combi-holes (locking/compression combination holes), providing orthopedic surgeons with maximum mechanical flexibility to construct a highly rigid fixed-angle frame or apply standard dynamic axial compression.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Anatomically Pre-Contoured Geometries: Distinctly engineered variations for Left and Right limbs ensure an optimal, close fit against the medial malleolus, streamlining surgical alignment.
-
Multi-Directional Head Fixation Cluster: Widely flared distal head accommodates multiple divergent locking screws to capture thin articular fragments and provide excellent subchondral support.
-
Advanced Shaft Combi-Holes: Symmetrical combination holes accept threaded locking screws for absolute structural rigidity or smooth-sloped cortical screws for standard axial compression.
-
Fixed-Angle Construct Security: Threaded screw-to-plate locking prevents screw back-out and hardware loosening, offering critical stability in highly comminuted fractures or severely osteoporotic bone tissue.
-
Ultra-Low Subcutaneous Profile: Engineered with a ultra-thin distal profile, rounded outer margins, and a smooth electropolished surface finish to reduce skin pressure, prevent hardware palpability, and minimize post-operative soft-tissue complications.
